Building
Trust,
one Yurt at a time
Sean McClowryI am absolutely love my Yurt in the Dirt. Ryan was super helpful in the process of getting it here and the instruction videos worked really well. The whole family really enjoys using it.Tim HendersonExtremely happy with the service of Ryan! Having never built one before he was always available for a call at anytime of day, or I as often called at night and was always very happy to receive the call and help. With problem solving and enthusiasm he answered every question we always had and I thank him sincerely for this. We have been through a week of 40 degree days and a couple of storms in the time we’ve had it set up and the yurt is as solid as a house! And I’m extremely surprised how impressive the insulation has handled these temperatures with the inside always remaining a pleasant temperature whether it be hot or cold outside. You’ve got a great product Ryan and thanks a million for always answering the phone and helping we appreciate it. Cheers Tim, Lisa and Iggy.Dave HarbenWe are so thrilled with our yurt. We bought the 8m one and cannot believe how spacious it is. Dealing with Ryan has been such a pleasure, great to see that old fashioned service is still alive. We were kept in the loop throughout and although we collected it ourselves he has been there the entire process. As for the yurt itself what a great product and so well priced. We had friends and family over two days to build the entire yurt, followed the video and it was easy, heavy but easy. Love the new colours available we were too early for them. We have thoroughly enjoyed the journey and highly recommend Yurt in the Dirt.Anthony ZhengI'm stoked to have our new office up and running. Ryan was very responsive from beginning to end and the yurt was relatively easy to build.mandy dunlopRyan was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. Some parts were a little fiddly and some heavy lifting but we had a great time with friends and family putting up the yurt. We’re very excited to start spending some time in it!!Genevieve MarieI’ve had a great experience so far with the company- my yurt arrives tomorrow and I’m so excited!! Nicki & Paul - Boogaloo Camp, AugustaRebecca McQueenI absolutely love my yurt! Ryan was amazing all the way from the initial enquiry through to completion of my yurt. Optional Extras available for all Yurts:
Small window ($220 each): 900mm (h) x 675mm (w) cantilever window which opens outwards for airflow. Can be installed in any position you choose.
Large window ($550 each): 1.7m x 1.7m (approx) fixed glass bay window, for framing that perfect view and letting in plenty of sunlight. Can be installed in any position you choose.
Notes on assembly:
Sub-frame and flooring: these are not included and will need to be arranged independently. We typically suggest building a sub-frame of either timber or steel construction, with a round timber platform to match the diameter of your yurt. Alternatively you could pour a circular concrete pad. Get in touch to ask us for our decking plans.
Difficulty: your yurt is fairly simple to build, and can usually be done in a few short days with simple tools, depending on how handy you are. The most difficult part is placing the outer cover over the frame. The outer cover is heavy and will need 3 – 4 people to lift for the larger diameter sizes. You will need a large A-frame ladder or a scaffold to reach up to dome height as you need to pass the outer cover through the dome from inside, before spreading out.
A rewarding experience: The joy of building your yurt is reminiscent of the old homesteading “barn raising party” – Get some friends and family around to help and create memories that will last a lifetime!
